Engineering & Manufacturing
Pay: $28.82 per hour
Shifts: 4 on, 4 off (2x day 2x nights)
The role:
You will operate and maintain forklifts and production machinery to ensure the safe and efficient movement of materials and smooth manufacturing processes. The role supports the production of internationally recognised products and requires a strong focus on reliability and attention to detail.
Our client runs a 24/7 operation, so the position follows a rotating shift pattern: two day shifts (7am–7pm), followed by two night shifts (7pm–7am), then four days off. You’ll be a key member of a small team, where consistent attendance is essential to maintain adequate staffing.
The role involves occasional manual handling and extended periods on your feet, so a good level of fitness, strength, and agility is required. This is an ongoing assignment with the potential for permanent employment for the right candidate.
To be successful in the role you will need:
- A current forklift licence with reach and counterbalance experience
- To hold good health and safety practices in the highest regard
- To be available to work weekends
- Good computer and data entry skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Good communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- A ‘Can do’ attitude
- Able to meet the physical requirements of the role
While experience in the food manufacturing industry is advantageous, it's not essential. If you're eager to learn and possess strong teamwork qualities, this opportunity is for you.
Key tasks include:
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods
- Setting up machinery according to production specifications
- Overseeing the efficient operation of the production line and equipment
- Troubleshooting and resolve machinery issues
- Accurate completion of quality and operations documentation
- Ensuring a clean environment and safe food handling
- Hazard identification and reporting
