An Ideal Candidate:

Role Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Associate to support the UK headquarters through transactional and process-driven finance work. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside the finance team of a large multinational company and gain experience across a wide range of accounting and finance activity, with potential to influence the direction of the service function being set-up.

 

The position is ideal for someone at the earlier stages of their finance career who is eager to learn, develop technical skills, and gain international exposure.

Key Competencies:

Key Responsibilities

UK Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Assist the UK finance team in preparing varied financial reports.
  • Support inter-company reconciliations, analysis and documentation.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial data and analysis as required by the UK office.
  • Support in carrying out tax compliance activities and administration.
  • Support year-end group consolidation by preparing component reports and schedules.

Transactional Accounting and Bookkeeping

  • Manage daily bookkeeping activities as delegated by UK headquarters. This includes tasks related to:
    • Accounts Payable
    • Accounts Receivable
    • Prepayments and Accruals.
  • Monthly publication of the fixed asset register and carry out periodic asset impairment reviews.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger entries and ensure timely month-end closings.
  • Address questions and changes requested after review from the UK

Office Administration

  • Maintain good records for MB India operations and address the requirements of the outsourced accounting function for local compliance as delegated by the Financial Controller. Estimated to take up 5-10% of your time.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

  • Working towards a professional accounting qualification, such as Chartered Accountant, or any educational qualification in accounting and finance.
  • 1- 2 years’ experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Awareness of international accounting practices (e.g. UK GAAP/FRS102 or IFRS).
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite, with a strong working knowledge of Excel (XLOOKUP, PIVOT TABLES, SUMIFS).

Desirable:

  • Experience working with overseas finance teams.
  • Knowledge of SAP accounting software (S/4HANA).
  • Knowledge of Indian accounting standards.
  • Some flexibility to align with UK working hours occasionally.
