We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a high-performing technology team delivering large-scale enterprise applications within a financial services environment.
This is an opportunity to work on business-critical platforms, building and enhancing modern software solutions used by a global customer base. You will collaborate with talented engineering teams, contribute to technical design decisions, and help deliver secure, scalable and high-quality applications.
The role would suit an experienced Java professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working with modern technologies and contributing to the development of large enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain enterprise-scale Java applications.
- Build and enhance REST APIs and Microservices.
- Contribute to system architecture and technical design discussions.
- Support the full software development lifecycle in an Agile environment.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, testers and business stakeholders.
- Drive software quality through testing, automation and engineering best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across applications and processes.
- Mentor team members and contribute to technical leadership where required.
Skills & Experience Required
- 8+ years of professional Java development experience.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot and the wider Spring Framework.
- Experience building REST APIs and Microservices.
- Strong Oracle and SQL development experience.
- Experience developing and supporting enterprise-scale applications.
- Understanding of software design principles and best practices.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Desirable Experience
- Azure and/or AWS Cloud experience.
- CI/CD and DevOps exposure.
- Experience with Kafka, ActiveMQ or other messaging technologies.
- Previous experience contributing to architecture decisions.
- Experience mentoring developers or leading technical initiatives.
- Financial Services, Banking or FinTech experience.
