Head of Technical - Retail / Shopping Mall

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Technical to lead our technical operations, asset management, and engineering initiatives across our properties. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to maintaining and enhancing building performance. Experience in retail properties, shopping malls, or mixed‑use developments is highly preferred, but not mandatory.

Requirements

• Degree in Building Services, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, Surveying, or related disciplines.
• Professional membership such as HKIE, CIBSE, IMechE, HKIS, or equivalent is a strong advantage.
• Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience, preferably in shopping malls, retail portfolios, or large commercial complexes.
• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Strong knowledge of local regulations, building ordinances, and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication skills, problem‑solving ability, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all technical operations, engineering teams, and facility management partners across assigned properties.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance strategies, energy optimisation plans, and lifecycle asset management programmes.
• Ensure all building services systems—including HVAC, E&M, fire services, and sustainability initiatives—are operated safely and efficiently.
• Manage CAPEX and OPEX planning, budgeting, and reporting.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, leasing, projects, and operations teams to support business needs.
• Oversee incident management, system audits, compliance with statutory requirements, and improvements aligned with organisational standards.
• Drive innovation, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement of technical performance.
