Application Developer - Frontend-Focused

Our client is a Reputable Financial Institution based in Hong Kong, and they are looking for a Application Developer focusing in Frontend-Focused developer to join their team.

Key responsibilities include:

-       Develop and maintain responsive web applications and dashboards for an integrated platform, ensuring seamless user experiences across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.

-       Enhance and extend an existing React.js/Next.js frontend with a desktop-first responsive strategy that remains fully mobile-compatible, using fluid layouts, CSS Grid/Flexbox, container queries, and adaptive components.

-       Collaborate closely with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate requirements into high-quality frontend solutions.

-       Integrate frontend components with backend services using technologies such as FastAPI, Express.js, Prisma, Drizzle, or similar APIs and ORM tools.

-       Design and implement data visualizations, charts, and graphs using modern libraries to support supervisory risk analysis and insights.

-       Apply modern UI/UX design principles and leverage design systems or packages (e.g., Material UI, Ant Design, Tailwind CSS) for clean and intuitive interfaces.

-       Collaborate closely with IT teams to align infrastructure, security standards and technical requirements and to integrate the application into high-quality frontend experiences.

-       Participate in Agile processes, including technical discussions, feasibility studies, code reviews, quality assurance checks, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure high-quality, maintainable deliverables.

-       Support unit/integration testing, user acceptance testing, performance optimization, and continuous platform improvements.

-       Proactively manage tasks, contribute to deliverables, and maintain clear documentation.

Requirements:

-       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

-       At least 3 years of relevant experience in web application development, with a strong track record in building responsive websites and applications.

-       Strong proficiency in frontend development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React.js, and Next.js; experience with low-code platforms (e.g., OutSystems) is a plus.

-       Solid experience with data visualization libraries such as but not limited to D3.js, ECharts, Recharts, or Plotly to render complex datasets.

-       Fundamental understanding of backend logic, RESTful APIs, and asynchronous request handling.

-       Experience working with SQL databases to understand data structures and write basic queries.

-       Good understanding of CI/CD tools and processes.

-       Knowledge of the banking or financial regulatory industry is a plus.

-       Exposure to Generative AI or agentic AI applications is a plus.
