HGV Refuse & Recycling Driver

Location: Charnwood, LE12 7AH

Pay Rate: £17.06 per hour

Job Type: Full Time | Temp to Perm | Immediate Starts Available

Working Hours

• Tuesday to Friday, 6:00am - 4:00pm (38 hours per week)

• Regular overtime available (Saturday paid at T/12, Sunday paid at double time)

• Task and Finish role - once your route and duties are completed, you can finish for the day while still being paid for your full scheduled shift

• Opportunity to secure a permanent position after 12 weeks

As an HGV Refuse & Recycling Driver, you will:

• Drive a pre-planned collection route alongside your team of Loaders.

• Collect waste and recycling from residential and commercial properties.

• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks before commencing your route.

• Ensure your vehicle is clean, safe and ready for work each day.

• Act as a professional representative of the Environmental Services team within the local community.

• Work safely and efficiently to meet operational targets and service standards.

• Support your team to deliver an efficient and reliable collection service.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Hold a valid Class 1 or Class 2 HGV Licence.

• Hold a valid Driver CPC qualification.

• Be reliable, hardworking and safety conscious.

• Be physically fit due to the nature of the role.

• Have a positive attitude and excellent team-working skills.

• Be willing to support colleagues and go the extra mile to ensure routes are completed successfully.

• Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with members of the public.
