Job Title: Service Advisor


Location: Ealing, fully office based


Hourly rate £19.46 PAYE / £25.34 UMB Per Hour


Contract Length: 3-month contract (possibility of extension)


Working Pattern: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 35 hours

Are you passionate about helping people and delivering outstanding customer service? We are looking for a dedicated Service Advisor to join our Customer & Transactional Services team.



As the first point of contact for residents accessing council services, you will play a key role in supporting customers, understanding their needs, and helping them access the right services and solutions. You'll empower residents to use online services confidently while providing a welcoming, professional, and empathetic customer experience.



About the Role


In this varied and rewarding position, you will:



  • Act as the first point of contact for customers visiting community hubs and council locations.

  • Provide accurate information, advice, and guidance on a wide range of council services.

  • Support residents in accessing and navigating online council services.

  • Help customers develop their digital skills and confidence.

  • Book appointments and signpost customers to specialist services when required.

  • Direct residents to local community and voluntary organisations for additional support.

  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and feedback.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple council departments.

  • Contribute to continuous service improvement and embrace new ways of working.


About You


We are looking for someone who:



  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Is empathetic, patient, and customer-focused.

  • Can remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging or distressed customers.

  • Is confident using Microsoft Office and other IT systems.

  • Has experience working in a customer-facing environment.

  • Can work independently while also being a strong team player.

  • Understands the importance of confidentiality, data protection, and information security.

  • Is digitally confident and able to support others in using online services.

  • Has strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
