Compliance & Regulatory Analyst – EU Investments

Our client is a European investment platform actively investing across Europe, with a strong focus on the Czech Republic. The company operates in a diverse portfolio of sectors including finance, real estate, hospitality, mechanical engineering, brewing, tourism, aviation, media, and sports. It also develops strategic opportunities throughout the CEE region and across Europe.
To support the company’s safe and compliant expansion in the European market, we are seeking a specialist who can navigate EU investment regulations, identify and mitigate regulatory risks, and ensure full compliance with EU legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse EU legislation relevant to the company’s investment activities (FDI, competition law, data protection, and sector-specific regulations).
- Conduct assessments of EU investment frameworks, including FDI screening, EU merger control, the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation, and export control regimes.
- Prepare regulatory and geopolitical risk analyses for existing and planned investments.
- Provide internal advice on compliance obligations and risk mitigation strategies.
- Support the development and implementation of internal compliance policies and controls.
- Liaise with external legal advisors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Assist in due diligence for acquisitions, partnerships, and new market entries.
- Prepare regular compliance reports and briefings on regulatory developments within the EU.
- Collaborate with HQ to implement global risk and compliance requirements.
- Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned within the scope of the role.
Candidate Profile
- University degree in Law, European Studies, International Relations, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of EU law, investment regulations, FDI frameworks, antitrust rules, FSR, and export controls.
- Experience in compliance, regulatory analysis, or risk management (international environment is a plus).
- Excellent analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations.
- Strong communication skills in English and Czech.
- Independent, structured, and capable of delivering practical, business-oriented recommendations.
