Warehouse Team Lead
Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Warehouse Team Lead to join our client’s exciting warehouse team in Oakville, ON. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring that all activities related to receiving, storage, and distribution are carried out efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and oversee a team of warehouse associates, providing guidance and direction to achieve daily objectives.
Organize and prioritize workloads, ensuring efficient workflow and that orders are processed and shipped in a timely manner.
Oversee inventory management, including stock checks, cycle counts, and reconciliation to ensure accurate records and proper stock levels.
Ensure all warehouse staff follow safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Monitor operations to ensure accuracy in order picking, packing, shipping, and receiving activities.
Train and onboard new employees, ensuring they understand warehouse procedures and best practices.
Evaluate team performance, provide feedback, and implement corrective actions when necessary to meet performance goals.
Ensure all warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, are in safe working condition and that employees are properly trained to operate them.
Identify areas for operational improvements and work with management to implement new strategies to enhance warehouse efficiency.
Generate daily or weekly reports on warehouse activities, including productivity, inventory levels, and safety compliance, for management review.
Qualifications:
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field is a plus.
Certifications in warehouse operations or safety (e.g., OSHA) are advantageous.
3-5 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution center, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Proven ability to manage, train, and motivate a team to meet operational targets.
Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working in 3PL warehousing or logistics environment.
Experience with administration tasks is a plus
Current valid Forklift license with experience as walkie, counterbalance operator, or Raymond Reach is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address issues and implement solutions quickly.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and TMS (transportation management system)
Ability to lift heavy objects, operate warehouse machinery, and work in varying warehouse conditions
