Tooling Technologist
Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced Tooling Technologist to work for our Client in Scarborough, ON. In this role you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining tooling systems and processes that support manufacturing operations. This position ensures that tooling is optimized for production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will work closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to ensure that tools and dies meet the company’s standards and specifications.

Pay Rate: $22.00/hour
Location: Progress Ave & Kennedy Rd, Scarborough ON.
Shift: Monday-Thursday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm AND Friday: 7:30 am to 2:00 pm

Responsibilities:
Analyzes SolidWorks models, drawings, sketches, and design data of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates.
Determines stock material sizes and prepares an order sheet to direct the casting of raw material blocks.
Creates NC program of machine instructions in G code language after selection of appropriate machine.
Uses the appropriate Post Processor to create a numeric control file (.TAP, .CNC, or .NC)
Verifies NC file using CAMWorks Simulation to ensure that all material will removed and that no gouging or collisions of cutting tool or tool holders with work piece will occur.
Creates job instruction sheets and set up sheets to guide setup and operation of machine.
Revises program to eliminate instruction errors or omissions, and to improve program by adjusting machining parameters to achieve optimal efficiency. Writes program of machine instructions in symbolic language to encode numerical control tape or direct numerical control database to regulate movement of machine along cutting path.
Compares encoded tape or computer printout with original program sheet to assure accuracy of machine instructions.
Observes operation of machine on trial run to prove taped or programmed instructions.
Works with Department Manager and Group Leaders to develop improvement ideas that support business objectives
Accountable to follow all policies and procedures defined in the company quality system.
Reports to work on time, and follow the call in procedure.
Report any Health and Safety issues to your department manager immediately.
Daily routine housekeeping of your work area.
Conducts all work duties as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations, the health, safety & environmental policies, procedures, and policies of Array Canada.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
Hold a Post-Secondary college/degree in Mechanical Engineering
Strong organizational skills & excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good Time Management Skills
Able to read and interpret documents such as design briefs, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
