Adecco is currently hiring a full-time skilled and responsible Thermal Plant Operator to join our client’s operations team. This role is critical in maintaining the optimal functioning of our thermal power plant, ensuring safe and efficient energy production. In this role you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of facility systems, including water treatment, high-pressure steam generation, sour oil wells, and oil treatment facilities. Reporting to the Operations Senior Coordinator, this role ensures that production requirements are met while adhering to safety and operational standards.

  • Location: Lloydminster, AB

  • Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights) including weekends and holidays (7 on/7 off).

Responsibilities:

  • Operate the facility safely and effectively, collaborating with the operating team.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment to optimize performance and meet production targets.

  • Perform condition monitoring, sampling, and testing; complete operational records such as volume balances, log sheets, and work permits.

  • Support maintenance activities and communicate requirements to on-site contractors.

  • Provide assistance, coaching, and on-the-job training to new employees.

  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) requirements.

  • Adhere to High Reliability Organization standards and expectations.

  • Work in various conditions, including heights, confined spaces, noise, and extreme weather.

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada

  • Minimum three years of experience operating steam-generating equipment, control panels, oil processing, and/or well equipment.

  • Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineering certificate required; 2nd Class certification or progress towards it is preferred.

  • Oil and gas industry experience is an asset.

  • Experience with equipment isolation, safe work permitting, and hazard analysis.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP, and field data capture systems is an asset.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and take on increased operational responsibility.

  • Solid understanding of safety and regulatory standards.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
