Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Thermal Operator (3rd Class Power Engineer) to join our client’s operations team in Lloydminster, AB. In this position you will play a key role in safely operating, maintaining, and optimizing facility equipment to ensure smooth and efficient production performance. This position requires strong technical knowledge, a commitment to safety, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.

  • Shift: Wed-Tues| 7 days on 7 days off | Rotating days and nights | 12 hours a day

  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time | 12-month contract

Responsibilities:

  • Operate the facility safely and efficiently, working collaboratively as part of the operations team.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot area-specific equipment to optimize performance and meet production targets in accordance with company standards.

  • Conduct condition monitoring, sampling, and testing; complete accurate operations records, including volume balances, log sheets, work permits, and reports.

  • Support maintenance activities consistent with the site’s operating philosophy and provide oversight for on-site maintenance contractors to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and assessments to new team members as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) standards.

  • Uphold High Reliability Organization (HRO) expectations in all operations and decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate required; 2nd Class certification or progress toward 2nd Class is preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating steam generation, control panels, oil processing, or related well and process equipment.

  • Previous oil and gas industry experience is an asset.

  • Skilled in equipment isolation, safe work permitting, and hazard analysis.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with SAP and field data capture systems is an asset.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment with a proactive, safety-focused mindset.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required.

  • This is a safety-sensitive position and subject to all requirements of the Cenovus Drug and Alcohol Policy, including pre-assignment testing.

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
