Adecco is currently hiring for a full-time Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Operator for a leading electronics manufacturing company in Ottawa’s West End.

  • Pay rate: $18/hour

  • Location: Ottawa, ON

  • Shifts: Day and Evening Shifts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate SMT equipment to manufacture products according to specifications.

  • Monitor process controls and inputs to maintain product quality, including Statistical Process Control and process optimization.

  • Conduct product inspections following specific procedures.

  • Use PC-based software tools for setups and maintain component/machine databases.

  • Load and unload feeders and SMT carriages.

  • Manage inventory, perform cycle counts, and maintain stock accuracy.

  • Assist in mechanical assembly, packaging, or other areas as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Must be legally eligible to live and work within Canada.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating complex automated production equipment.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience in electronics assembly.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to document process observations.

  • Experience with Fuji and Universal equipment is an asset.

  • Knowledge of PCB handling, ESD practices, and IPC-610 standards.

  • General SMT experience, including Pick & Place, Screen Print, and Reflow.

  • Comfortable using PCs and various software tools.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and support teams to resolve production issues and improve processes.
