Adecco is currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for a full-time opportunity in Thunder Bay, ON. This role is suited to an experienced structural engineering professional who is ready to take a leadership role in delivering complex building and infrastructure projects within a multidisciplinary consulting environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and delivering structural engineering work across a variety of project types, including commercial, industrial, and residential developments. This position involves leading design activities from early-stage development through to completion, providing technical oversight, and ensuring high-quality project delivery. You will also contribute to business development efforts, mentor junior team members, and support field and construction-related activities.

  • Salary: $115,000 – $145,000

  • Location: Thunder Bay, ON

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday

  • Contract: Full-time | Permanent

  • Responsibilities

  • Lead structural design on multi-discipline projects from proposal stage through to completion

  • Perform structural analysis and design for commercial, industrial, and residential building structures using steel, concrete, wood, and masonry

  • Prepare technical reports, drawings, calculations, and specifications

  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables

  • Provide structural input on proposals, fee estimates, and business development initiatives

  • Conduct site visits, field reviews, inspections, and construction support activities

  • Review shop drawings and contractor submissions for compliance and accuracy

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, designers, and technologists

  • Ensure projects meet quality standards, codes, and regulatory requirements

  • Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus

  • Minimum 7 years of structural engineering experience

  • Strong technical expertise in structural analysis, design, and code compliance

  • Experience managing projects, budgets, and engineering deliverables

  • Eligible for or registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario (other jurisdictions considered an asset)

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and structural design/analysis tools considered an asset

  • Willingness to travel for site work and field inspections as required

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain required security clearances
