Senior Principal / VP - Electrical Engineering

Adecco is currently seeking a Senior Principal / VP – Electrical Engineering for a permanent full-time leadership opportunity in Victoria, BC. This executive-level role is ideal for an experienced electrical engineering leader ready to take ownership of an established office platform and shape its next phase of growth and impact.

Our client is a well-established Canadian consulting firm delivering electrical engineering, lighting, and technology design services across Western Canada. With a strong reputation for award-winning design across healthcare, laboratories, transit, mixed-use, commercial, education, and recreational facilities, the organization places sustainability and technical excellence at the core of its work.

As Senior Principal or VP, you will lead the Victoria electrical team, oversee complex building projects from concept to commissioning, steward financial performance, and play a key role in market presence and long-term growth across Vancouver Island.

• Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

• Schedule: Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership of the Victoria electrical team, setting direction, defining standards, and building a strong, engaged culture

• Oversee full project lifecycles on commercial, institutional, mixed-use, healthcare, and transit projects from feasibility and concept through detailed design, construction, and commissioning

• Deliver technical leadership across medium- and low-voltage distribution, lighting, life-safety systems, and building technology systems

• Ensure designs are compliant, coordinated, constructable, and future-ready

• Manage multiple projects at a portfolio level, overseeing risk, scope, schedule, and quality

• Provide financial stewardship for the office, including performance monitoring, fee strategy, resourcing, and growth planning

• Maintain and grow key client relationships, represent the firm in the local market, and support strategic business development efforts

• Mentor and develop senior and intermediate engineers, building a strong succession and career development pathway

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada

• P.Eng registration in British Columbia

• 10–15+ years of experience in building-focused electrical consulting

• Proven leadership experience overseeing teams, offices, or business units, including responsibility for people, performance, and client portfolios

• Deep experience in sectors such as healthcare, laboratories, commercial, mixed-use, institutional, and/or transportation projects

• Strong technical expertise in building electrical systems and applicable codes

• Demonstrated success delivering complex projects and retaining clients

• Ability to engage confidently with senior decision-makers and stakeholders

• Leadership style aligned with a collaborative, authentic, and performance-oriented culture

• Business development acumen; an existing Victoria or Vancouver Island network is a strong asset and may support VP-level appointment
