Adecco is currently seeking a motivated Scientist – Analytical Operations to join our client’s laboratory team in Whitby, ON. This 12-month contract role, offering $24 per hour, is ideal for an individual with strong analytical skills and a background in chemistry who is looking to gain hands-on experience in a regulated pharmaceutical environment. Working on the midnight shift, the successful candidate will support analytical testing for clinical, prototype, and commercial batches while adhering to GMP and ALCOA data integrity principles.

- Pay rate: $24/hour.
- Location: Whitby, ON
- Shifts: Monday-Friday 12:00am-8:00am
- Job type: 12-month contract | Full-time
- Hires fast, pays weekly.

- Provide analytical support within the Laboratory Operations Department following established practices and SOPs.
- Perform analytical testing on prototype, CTM (Clinical Trial Material), and commercial batches.
- Record detailed observations and review, document, and communicate test results.
- Document all experimental data in line with ALCOA (Attributable, Legible, Contemporaneous, Original, Accurate) principles.
- Independently perform HPLC, dissolution testing, and physical analyses per approved methods and SOPs.
- Use laboratory software including Empower, NuGenesis, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting to address system suitability issues.
- Identify and report Out of Specification (OOS) or unexpected results to the Supervisor and assist in investigations.
- Maintain a safe working environment and promptly report hazards.
- Participate in rotating or alternating shifts as needed.
- Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
- B.Sc. in Chemistry or related field; equivalent experience considered
- Experience with lab equipment and analytical testing
- Knowledge of chemistry, chromatography, and pharmaceutical GMP standards
- Strong problem-solving and data interpretation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and lab software (Empower, NuGenesis)
- Excellent communication; able to work independently and in teams
- Must be and proficient in English
