This unique Quality Engineering contract role will provide interface between the manufacturing plant and the customer on issues, new product launches and be the face of the client to enhance customer satisfaction and serve as a link between the customer and assembly plants. This position will be in place to respond to any client communication and mitigate any customer dissatisfactions or challenges and look to minimize them.  They will look to keep customer metrics performance under the established goals and objectives and will operate on-site in Ingersoll and specialize in areas of advanced problem solving and analytics as it relates to issues with material, product, equipment, and processes.  If you have the experience and ability to work in this kind of challenging Quality role, please get in contact today.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years’ experience in Quality Engineering at the Tier 1 / Tier 0 automotive level

  • Prior direct OEM interface experience on quality issues

  • Automotive industry experience, with strong understanding of the specific industry challenges

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Background in assembly manufacturing would be ideal

  • Proficient in Microsoft (PowerPoint, Excel, Word),

  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills

  • APQP, PFMEA and control plan knowledge.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engineering for incoming materials. Incumbents in this classification verify incoming materials conform to documented requirements, prepare incoming inspection instructions and equipment operation instructions, and ensuring that nonconforming material is segregated or moved to an area responsible for necessary repairs and then another inspection before use in a Lean manufacturing environment.

  • Ensure proper communication and overall customer satisfaction

  • Link between the customer and assembly plants

  • Provide knowledge and expertise of customer processes to personnel and vice versa.

  • Proactive line walks (audit of assembly process).

  • Monitor on where parts are and ensure parts are handled and installed properly

  • Examines contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.

  • Provide technical support and review items with line operators, quality engineers, quality managers to maintain and improve product quality.

  • Provide issues resolution (8D) to the customer.

  • Minimize impact on customer satisfaction and customer ratings.

  • Facilitate communication to address customer concerns and leverage with other customers through the QRE base

  • Support pre-production, launch and production, as required, at customer assembly plants

  • Support warranty and JD Power activities, as required

  • Support visits and meetings at the customer, providing quality / warranty issues, as required

  • Coordinate quality and /or engineering issues that may jeopardize the customer

  • QC/RMA requests. (Return suspect parts for analysis)

  • Sorting activities coordination.

  • Control clean point at customer for quality complaints or engineering change introductions. Responsible for new material sample approval.

  • Inspect suspect part tables line side.

  • Review suspect parts in in-coming quality crib.

  • Support to Customer with problem solving activities

  • Coordinate quality and /or engineering issues that may jeopardize the customer

  • Manage and coordinate customer PPM (Parts per Million), cost recovery and supplier warranty indicators through daily, weekly, and monthly reports
