Quality Assurance Manager - Senior

Adecco is actively seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Manager to join our client’s team in North York, ON to lead the bakery’s QA team and ensure all products meet top-quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role oversees audits, implements food safety programs, and drives continuous improvement across production processes.

• Pay Rate: $95k/year.

Responsibilities:  

• Lead and mentor QA team; foster a culture of quality and food safety.

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance and food safety programs.

• Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, CFIA, FSMA, FSSC 22000/BRC, and other regulations.

• Lead internal and regulatory audits, including FSSC 22000 programs.

• Oversee product quality, inspections, testing, and customer complaint resolution.

• Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective/preventive actions.

• Collaborate with Production, R&D, Maintenance, and Supply Chain for process improvements.

• Analyze quality metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

• Deliver training on QA protocols, food safety, and GMP compliance.

• Maintain documentation and reports on audits, inspections, and quality performance.

Requirements:  

• Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.

• 7–10 years QA experience in food manufacturing; bakery experience an asset.

• Proven leadership managing QA teams and programs.

• Strong knowledge of HACCP, FSSC 22000/BRC, FSMA, GMP, and regulatory compliance.

• Experience leading FSSC 22000 internal audits; ISO 45001 audits an asset.

• HACCP, BRC/FSSC 22000, PCQI certifications required; ISO 45001 valued.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Proficient in QA software and data management tools.
