Adecco is currently hiring a full-time highly skilled Project/Materials Engineer to join our client’s team in Fort McMurray, AB. This role focuses on overseeing materials selection, project planning, and execution for various engineering projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that materials meet project specifications, managing material costs, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery. The role involves both project management and technical expertise in materials science.

  • Location: Fort McMurray, AB 

  • Shift: Monday to Friday | 40 hours a week.

  • Job type: Long Term | Full-time |9-month contract with possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:

  • Materials Engineer developing equipment strategies for fixed equipment.

  • Evaluate damage mechanisms based on process conditions and inspection history to determine probability of failure and provide recommended mitigating actions.

  • Equipment strategy development is a multi-discipline approach, so interaction with inspections personnel, mechanical engineering, operations and process technical will be required.

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada

  • Must be local to Fort McMurray or willing relocate. This is not camp based FIFO role.

  • Must be a P.Eng ( professional engineer) from APEGA.

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering.

  • Minimum 5-10 years of work experience as material engineer.

  • Ability to manages own time and can address numerous issues simultaneously.

  • Developed interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with broad stakeholders.

  • Good knowledge of applicable Codes, Standards and Regulatory requirements
