Adecco is currently hiring a full-time innovative and skilled Product Designer to join our client’s team in Toronto, ON. In this role you will lead the entire design process, transforming ideas into compelling user experiences. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct user research, and create visually appealing, intuitive interfaces that meet the needs of the users. In addition, you will help maintain and scale the design system while mentoring junior designers to ensure quality and consistency across our products.

  • Pay Rate: $86.00/hour.

    Location: Toronto, ON | Hybrid - 3 days per week in office

  • Shift: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm

  • Job type:  Full-time | 12-month contract

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design process from concept to implementation.

  • Conduct user research and apply insights to design.

  • Create high-fidelity prototypes or mockups to effectively communicate designs.

  • Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces.

  • Effectively communicate designs and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement them.

  • Develop and implement design strategies aligned with product goals, standards, and architecture.

  • Develop, maintain, and scale the compass design system for use across product modules.

  • Conduct usability testing, ensure accessibility, and mentor junior designers.

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada

  • 5+ years of experience designing web-based software applications; B2B/Fintech experience is a plus.

  • Experience working with cross-functional product, design, and engineering teams in an agile/lean environment.

  • Expertise in using design thinking and human-centered design methodologies to facilitate the design process

  • A drive to really understanding and confirming the problem before designing a solution.

  • Experience with building and maintaining a design system in Figma and working with developers to maintain a design system in coded design system.

  • Proficient with design specification/dev handoff to include designs for (design system usage, interaction design, copywriting, i18n, a11y, error handling, and handling data variations etc.)

  • Strong prototyping and interaction design skills, either with graphic tools or in HTML/CSS/JS.

  • Great written and spoken communication skills

  • Self-starting on projects and working from a position of ambiguity is very beneficial

  • Familiarity with accessibility guidelines and techniques for making web-based software accessible is an asset

  • Bilingualism- English is mandatory, French is not
