Material Handler

Adecco is hiring Material Handlers in Oshawa! Our client is recognized as one of the world’s leading logistics providers. This is a seasonal opportunity with the possibility of a contract extension.

• Pay rate: $18.00-18.50/hour (seasonal pay rate: $20-20.50 / hour.)

• Start date: Immediate

• Location: Oshawa, ON(Bus Accessible)

• Shifts Available: Days - Monday to Friday 6am to 2:30pm; Sunday to Thursday Afternoon 3:00pm – 11:30pm.

• Job type: Temporary Full-time, with possibility of contract extension

General Labour Job Responsibilities:

• Loading and unloading products 

• Reads production schedule, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed

• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas

• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence, such as: size, type, style, color, or product code

• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line

• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department

• Marks materials with identifying information

• Opens bales, crates, and other containers

• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed

• Weighs or counts items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards

• Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers

• Enters and maintains inventory records in the computer

• Prepares parcels for mailing

• Cleans warehouse area and other duties as required and assigned

General Labour Qualifications

• Minimum 1 to 3 months of related experience is preferred

• High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency

• Read fine labels and barcodes, must have attention to detail

• Required to stand, walk, kneel, throughout shift

• Comfortable lifting up to 50lbs

• RF gun experience preferred

• Clear criminal background preferred
