Responsibilities:
Installation & Maintenance:
Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures, including water supply lines, drainage systems, and gas lines.
Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems.
Work with various types of materials including copper, PVC, PEX, and cast iron.
Diagnostic & Repair:
Diagnose plumbing issues quickly and accurately, providing effective solutions to restore proper function.
Perform troubleshooting on plumbing systems, including the repair or replacement of defective parts.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently and comply with safety standards.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal plumbing codes and regulations.
Adhere to safety guidelines and practices on all job sites, using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety protocols.
Complete necessary documentation, including permits and inspection reports.
Project Management Support:
Collaborate with other trades and contractors to complete projects on time and within budget.
Assist in planning and laying out plumbing systems for new construction or renovation projects.
Provide input on material requirements and cost estimates for plumbing work.
Customer Interaction:
Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and explain repair or installation processes.
Provide excellent customer service, ensuring that clients are satisfied with the work performed.
Offer advice and recommendations on plumbing maintenance and upgrades to prevent future issues.
Mentorship & Teamwork:
Supervise and train apprentices or junior plumbers, sharing your knowledge and expertise.
Work collaboratively with team members to solve complex plumbing problems.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, productive work environment.
Qualifications:
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
Backflow certification, gas fitter certification, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a licensed journeyman plumber.
Valid journeyman plumber license in Saskatchewan
Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and best practices.
Proficient in using plumbing tools and equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Good physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments (e.g., confined spaces, outdoor settings).
