Hourly Rate: $28 – 30/hr

About the Role
We are currently seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our team on a 6-month assignment to start. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys working across both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions while providing strong customer support. This role is conveniently located in Toronto with easy TTC subway access, making it ideal for candidates seeking a central and accessible workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Follow up with customers regarding outstanding balances

  • Process, apply, and reconcile incoming payments

  • Maintain accurate customer accounts and resolve discrepancies

• Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments

  • Verify invoice accuracy and coding

• Bank & Account Reconciliations

  • Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies

  • Support account reconciliations and month-end processes

• Billing & Customer Setup

  • Create and maintain customer profiles within the system

  • Generate and issue invoices in a timely manner

• General Accounting

  • Prepare and post journal entries

  • Assist with month-end close activities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation

• Customer Service & Support

  • Provide responsive and professional support to customers regarding billing, payments, and account inquiries

  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues efficiently

Qualifications

• At least 3+ years of accounting experience at an intermediate level

• Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct and QuickBooks is required

• Strong working knowledge of full-cycle AR, AP, and bank reconciliations

• Experience with invoicing and customer account setup

• Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Flexible and willing to help with various accounting related functions
