Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Salary: $110,500 – $124,290 (commensurate with experience)

Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior HR Advisor and Director, you will support the development of strategic HR programs and provide operational HR advisory services across a wide range of functions, including:

  • Recruitment and staffing

  • Learning and development

  • HR policy development and planning

  • Support in employment equity, pay equity, job evaluation/classification, and health & safety (training provided)

What You Bring:
Education & Experience:

  • University degree in Industrial Relations or Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education and recent experience in a unionized HR environment

  • Proven experience in recruitment, staffing, and learning & development

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of trade union and equity principles

  • Proficiency with HR systems and implementation

  • Sound judgment and ability to advise all levels of staff and leadership

  • Awareness of the social and political dynamics within unionized environments

  • Solid grasp of employment legislation, standards, and collective agreements

Attributes:

  • Fully bilingual in English and French (written, spoken, and comprehension)

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Conflict resolution and relationship-building abilities

  • Excellent project management and team collaboration skills

  • Advanced proficiency in HR-related software tools
