Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Adecco is actively seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a full-time, permanent role based in Prince Rupert, BC. In this position, you’ll inspect, maintain, and repair a variety of heavy-duty machinery including loaders, forklifts, and excavators. Your work will ensure equipment safety, reliability, and peak performance in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities:  

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy vehicles and machinery

• Conduct routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations

• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues

• Repair or replace components for maximum reliability and safety

• Test machinery to ensure proper performance and safety standards

• Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, diagnostics, and repairs

• Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations

Requirements:  

• Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.

• 4th or 5th year Heavy Duty Mechanic certification

• Proven hands-on experience working with heavy vehicles such as loaders, forklifts, and excavators

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electronic systems

• Physically capable of lifting heavy machinery and working in various positions

• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills

• Team player with strong communication abilities
