Safety Watch Technician
Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Safety Watch Technician for our client, a leader in the oil and gas industry, in Foster Creek, AB. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring workplace safety by supporting the implementation and management of health and safety protocols. The role involves conducting inspections, monitoring safety compliance, supporting training programs, and assisting in the investigation of incidents. The Safety Watch Technician plays a key role in promoting a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Shift: 7 Days on, 7 days off; 12 hours per day

The site has full-service camp facilities. Depending on your place of residence and shift rotation, you may be offered coach bus and air transportation to and from site from designated departure points in select locations.
Responsibilities:
Act as Confined Space monitor, Safety Watch, or Fire Watch, in support of operations and maintenance work activities
Participate in health and safety risk assessment activities including safety meetings, field level hazard assessments, hazard identifications and behavioral observations
Work with and provide support to site Safety Equipment Technicians
Understand and initiate emergency response plan when necessary
Set-up, operate, and monitor breathing air equipment
Support tasks including but not limited to the cleaning and servicing of breathing air equipment, breathing air trailer housekeeping, refilling of breathing air cylinders
Operation and maintenance of gas detection equipment, daily/monthly bump and calibration of portable/temporary gas detection systems
Maintain H&S equipment inventory, deploying and distributing appropriately and communicate any damage or losses
Qualifications:
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers license
Must have valid H2S Alive, Confined Space Monitor, Fall Protection, and First aid certificates.
Must have training certificate/ experience in Gas Detection and Fire Extinguisher.
At least two years of relevant Safety Watch/Technician experience preferably in oil and gas in a field worksite environment.
Ability to operate and maintenance of gas detection equipment, daily/monthly bump and calibration of portable/temporary gas detection systems.
Strong communication skills
Demonstrated competency within the role of Safety Watch/Technician utilizing breathing air equipment
This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of Drug and Alcohol policy which includes pre-assignment testing
