Adecco is currently hiring for a temporary, full-time Health and Safety Coordinator to work a renewable, 6-Month contract at a globally known manufacturer of automotive seating and electrical systems. This new state of the art facility is the perfect worksite! As a key member of a great team, you will be expected to be open for various possible shifts and on-call for some weekend emergency.   • Pay rate: $27.65-$31.25 / hour.

  • Location: Whitby, ON
    Shifts: Monday to Friday | 8 AM- 4:30PM

  • Job type: Full-time | 6-month contract

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the company’s Environmental, Health and Safety programs in accordance with Corporate Policies, Directives and/or applicable regulatory requirements

  • Perform EHS assessments to ensure facility’s compliance with the Corporation’s environmental health and safety policies and procedures and assist in the implementation of these

  • Work under the direction of the EHS Manager to facilitate the departments key mandates and objectives and maintain records to comply with OHSA, local, provincial, and federal EPA regulations

  • Support coordination and execution of various training, participate in the investigation of incidents, near misses and property damage and ensure follow-up is done to minimize future exposure and proper records/documents are maintained.

Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • Post-Secondary Education with a Health and Safety-related degree or diploma is a must

  • 2-4 years’ experience in a Health & Safety environment, preferably within a union environment in the manufacturing/automotive industry is needed

  • Must have current knowledge of OHSA, EPS, and other regulations

  • Should have knowledge of incident investigation and ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 program administration

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with excellent time management are needed

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check

  • Self-motivated with the desire to be part of an energetic team

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
