Adecco is currently seeking a General Clerk, Junior for a full-time, 1-year temporary contract based in Ottawa, ON. This opportunity is ideal for experienced administrative professionals with a background in government or military HR environments who are detail-oriented and knowledgeable in personnel and pay procedures.

As a General Clerk, Junior, you will be responsible for maintaining personnel records, supporting pay administration, and ensuring compliance with established administrative policies and publications. Your work will directly support day-to-day administrative operations and member services.

  • Pay Rate: $45,000 – $65,000

  • Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (1-year contract)

  • Location: Ottawa, ON – 100% On-site

  • Security Clearance: Reliability Clearance required

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain members’ personnel files

  • Maintain electronic records (e.g., Guardian, SharePoint)

  • Process and distribute leave passes, conduct annual leave audits, and address accumulation or cash-out situations

  • Advise members and process administrative updates such as life events, address changes, and other routine requests

  • Draft and distribute correspondence, including Letters of Employment

  • Support pay administration activities

  • Utilize the Central Computerized Pay System (CCPS)

  • Review pay screens with individuals and explain pay-related items

  • Manage daily administrative operations

  • Distribute mail and process incoming and outgoing correspondence

  • Monitor inboxes and action items as required

  • Perform additional administrative duties as directed by the chain of command

  • Follow applicable administration publications and policies

  • Update and maintain accurate HR and personnel documentation

  • Process pay-related transactions and provide clarification to members

  • Support leave tracking and reporting requirements

  • Ensure compliance with established military HR policies and guidelines

  • Maintain organized and confidential record-keeping systems

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada

  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related field

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a government setting, preferably in Human Resources, Payroll, or as an Administrative Clerk

  • Detailed knowledge of Military Human Resources Record Procedures (MHRRP)

  • Working knowledge of CBI’s, Leave Policy Manual, CANFORGEN’s, QR&O’s, DAOD’s, CFAO’s, and CF Mil Pers Instr.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Reliability Clearance
