Adecco in partnership with our client is currently hiring a full-time experienced Controller to join the finance team in Woodstock, ON. will oversee accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves managing financial risks, overseeing audits, preparing budgets, and working closely with senior leadership to guide financial strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise accounting staff, including accountants and bookkeepers

  • Oversee financial statement preparation, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, financial reporting requirements, and regulatory bodies

  • Develop and implement financial processes and controls to ensure accuracy and efficiency

  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to management

  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders

  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies

  • Develop and maintain relationships with banking and financial institution

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulatory changes

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably in the cannabis industry but not mandatory.

  • CPA or CMA designation is an asset

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements

  • Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting

  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing regulations

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office

  • Experience with cannabis industry-specific software and systems

  • Knowledge of internal controls and audit procedures

  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions or financial integrations
