Event Support Staff – Toronto

Are you outgoing, professional, and love being part of high-energy events? Join our team as Event Support Staff for a large-scale conference in the heart of downtown Toronto! There are various types of roles available so be sure to read on to see if these are of interest/fit and apply for consideration.

Event Dates and Shifts: Friday, July 25th to Thursday, July 31st with various part-time and full-time shifts available (in the month of July – exact dates and shifts to be confirmed with selected talent). *Note some shifts commence by 6:30am and some for evening event support.
Location: Downtown Toronto core – easily accessible by GO or TTC


Responsibilities:


You’ll play a key role in ensuring the success of the event by supporting in various capacities, including:

  • Guest registration and check-in to various events/activities – this requires computer skills

  • Support with badge pick-up, assist with the printing of attendee badges as needed

  • Scanning badges for entry to events/activities in a quick, efficient manner

  • Handing out program books and materials

  • Administrative support functions that will require MS Office strengths

  • Wayfinding and attendee assistance

  • Session room monitoring

  • Line management and crowd flow

  • Help with set up/rearranging of vendor activities – this role will require some lifting up to 20 lbs

  • Technical support to cell phones, tablets regarding their app use/sign up etc.

  • General event support and troubleshooting


What We’re Looking For:

  • Excellent communication skills – clear, articulate, friendly, and professional

  • Outgoing and personable – you enjoy engaging with people and not being on your cell phone during the working hours

  • Professional appearance – business attire required:

    • Black bottoms (pants or skirt)

    • White dress shirt or collared top (No suit jacket or tie required)

    • Comfy black shoes (these can include tennis shoes but clean/black)

  • Physically able to stand for extended periods

  • Patient and adaptable – ready to handle a busy, dynamic event environment

  • Commitment and punctuality
