Adecco is currently seeking a Senior Estimating Engineer with strong expertise in cost estimation and scheduling for large-scale transmission and substation projects. This is a 12-month contract position based in Burnaby, BC, offering a competitive hourly rate of $87.76 CAD.
  • Pay rate: $87.76/hour.
  • Location: Burnaby, BC
  • Shifts: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm
  • Job type: 12-month contract | Full-time

Responsibilities:
  • Develop direct and indirect cost estimates for large-scale utility projects during all project phases (Planning to Implementation).
  • Prepare and manage project schedules and work breakdown structures, ensuring alignment with contracting plans.
  • Review, coordinate, and validate estimates prepared by other team members and external consultants.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to prepare cost data for regulatory submissions and executive reviews.
  • Support tendering processes, including reviewing contract specifications for bid-ability and supporting contract payment schedules.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members and consultants.
Requirements:
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Civil preferred, with Electrical strongly favored).
  • Registration or eligibility with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
  • A minimum of 8 years of engineering and construction experience, with at least 4 years in heavy industrial estimating.
  • Proven experience with $100M+ utility projects, especially in transmission and substation environments.
  • Strong knowledge of estimating software, MS Office, and experience with Monte Carlo simulations is preferred.
  • Outstanding communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must reside within commuting distance of Burnaby, BC.
