Pay rate:  $25/hour
Start Date:  August 19th, 2024
End Date:  Feb 18th, 2025 (6-month contract with potential for extension)
Location:  In office with potential for hybrid (3 days week), if works otherwise will remain in office.
Hours:  9-5pm (no exceptions)

Position Summary

This position supports the Disbursement Supervisor in following company procedures and policies around all aspects of the disbursement of checks in our Class Action administration division, including tax reporting, quality review of the checks and interacting with our bank partners. The Disbursement Financial Analyst role is responsible for reporting on project status and issue resolution to Disbursements Team managers as well as project managers and clients as applicable. As a member of the disbursement team, this role will be a part of delivering exceptional quality work to our clients as well as within our internal teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze accounts and data for accuracy. This can include extracting data from the company database and running queries and filters in excel to provide reports to management and being able to offer a problem resolution and implementation plan.

  • Process returned items identified through various banking portals and reports.

  • Confirm all posting of checks and other transactions to account records and investigate any unexplained discrepancies in account activity.

  • Collaborates with other Operations teams to ensure a timely completion of all tasks to the clients’ satisfaction.

  • Provide additional distribution and bank transaction information as requested. This could include complicated research and creating and/or maintaining spreadsheets and databases.

  • Maintain client and correspondence files and respond to notices as appropriate.

  • Daily recording of time in company timekeeping system.

  • Confirm all posting of transactions to account records.

  • Provide assistance and perform special projects and duties as assigned by the Disbursement Team Supervisor.

  • Follows company standard operating procedures in processing of checks and reports to Manager any deviations from those procedures.

  • Prepare quarterly and yearly reconciliation reports for quarterly and yearly income tax reporting.

  • Apply for tax identification numbers from state and federal agencies and professionally respond to inquiries from these same agencies. Manage the application process to ensure that all required identification numbers are timely received.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Associate’s degree from four-year college or university, with accounting graduates strongly preferred; or some college classes with two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must possess knowledge of basic accounting principles with general knowledge of operational procedures

  • Excellent Excel skills, at least intermediate level

  • Intermediate or better computer skills in Microsoft

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to deal professionally with both internal and external business contacts

  • Highly organized, have a great attention to detail, be self-motivated, possess the ability to meet deadlines and works well in a high-pressure environment.
