Adecco is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Contract Security Operator to join our client's team in Calgary, AB. In this essential contract role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enforcing corporate security policies while effectively monitoring various security systems, including video management, alarms, and access control. Your proactive approach will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of the work environment for employees and visitors alike. You will also be tasked with responding to emergencies, coordinating with first responders, and providing exceptional customer service in managing service requests. Responsibilities:

  • Maintain corporate security policies and procedures.

  • Monitor our clients systems, including video management, alarms, access control, GPS devices, emergency line, after-hours switchboard, dispatch, and reporting system.

  • Initiate emergency response, including dispatching service provider guard forces and activating Incident Command.

  • Manage alarm systems and provide emergency communication and situational awareness to first responders, management, incident commanders, and affected staff.

  • Identify criminal activity, breaches related to our clients policy and practices, and potential risks/safety hazards.

  • Respond promptly and accurately to the 911 monitoring system.

  • Efficiently manage service requests with a strong focus on customer service.

  • Assist our clients staff with timely physical access.

  • Liaise with property manager guard forces and emergency services personnel.

  • Conduct preliminary investigations related to applicable our clients policies and practices.

  • Coordinate and dispatch Safe Walk/Ride services.

  • Provide guidance to the service provider guard force.

  • Effectively manage shifts to ensure patrols, escorts, audits, and other initiatives are delivered on time and professionally.

Requirements:

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.

  • Standard First Aid with AED certification.

  • Experience in delivering emergency management, security, or dispatch services.

  • Proficient in working with integrated security systems.

  • Technical knowledge of physical security systems, including video management, access control, and alarm monitoring.

  • APCO training in courses such as Public Safety Tele-Communicator Course (PST), Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), Fire Service Communications, and ICS 200 is a plus.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, sound judgment, and a highly organized approach with attention to detail.
