CNC Machinist in Mississauga, ON 

Adecco’s client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join their manufacturing team. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts and components according to technical specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience with interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. 

CNC Machinist Responsibilities Are:

Set Up and Operation:

  • Prepare CNC machines for production by setting up tools, fixtures, and materials.

  • Load and program CNC machines using G-code, ensuring precise operations according to production requirements.

  • Perform initial machine setups, tool changes, and offsets for different machining processes.

Programming and Optimization:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications to determine machining operations.

  • Make adjustments to program parameters to optimize machine performance and ensure product quality.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CNC programs, tooling, and machine operations.

Quality Control:

  • Monitor machine operations and perform regular inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards.

  • Use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions.

  • Document and maintain accurate records of production runs, quality checks, and adjustments made during operation.

Maintenance and Safety:

  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, ensuring machines are clean, lubricated, and functioning properly.

  • Identify and report mechanical or technical issues that may affect production efficiency or quality.

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized work area.

CNC Machinist Qualifications Are:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in CNC machining preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency with CNC programming software and G-code.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and precision measurement techniques.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

  • Mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and high-quality standards.

  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical or technical issues.

  • Familiarity with CNC machine maintenance and safety protocols.
