Building Envelope Engineer - Senior
Adecco is actively seeking a Senior Building Science/Building Envelope Engineer to join their team in Ottawa, ON. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, analysis, and implementation of various building science engineering projects, focusing on both new construction and post-construction restoration. - Lead and oversee the design, analysis, and implementation of various building science engineering projects for new construction and post-construction restoration.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to integrate building science principles into the design process for residential and commercial construction projects.
- Conduct on-site investigations and performance testing of building envelope components, producing technical engineering reports.
- Review and provide senior-level consultation on technical reports and project specifications prepared by junior engineers and technologists for building envelope-related projects, assessments, and investigations.
- Oversee field inspection and reporting for various building envelope-related construction projects.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in building science, green building technologies, and building code standards.
- Prepare engineering proposals for building science-related projects and liaise directly with clients.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technologists.
- Handle other miscellaneous duties as required.
- Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
- Degree in Engineering, preferably in Building Science, Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in building science, with a focus on building envelope and related projects.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of Ontario.
- In-depth knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and construction/contract legislation.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and detail oriented.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
- Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
- Thermography Level 1, 2, or 3 certification is a plus.
