Are you a skilled Administrative Assistant with extensive experience in an education environment, ideally within an indigenous setting?
Adecco is currently recruiting for a permanent, full-time Administrative Assistant, Education position with our esteemed client, a member of the Assembly of First Nations located in Gold River, BC. This role focuses on providing essential administrative support to the education team, with preference given to candidates with experience in post-secondary student support programs, Indigenous Canada, or the Ministry of Children and Family.

  • Pay Rate: $60,000 - $68,000/year depending on experience
  • Location: Gold River, BC | Occasional travel
  • Job type: Full-time | Permanent
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • First three months of accommodation are provided
Duties and Responsibilities:        
  • Process correspondence, memorandums, and documentation using various software programs.
  • Follow up on requests for information and assist the Education Manager and staff with various administrative, financial, and other matters.
  • Perform basic accounting functions, including collecting expense receipts for submission, under the direction of the department manager.
  • Organize schedules and meetings as requested.
  • Book and organize requested travel arrangements.
  • Create meeting agendas, take meeting minutes, and transcribe requested phone calls.
  • Draft memos or other correspondence as requested.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
Requirements and Qualifications: 
  • Administrative Assistant Diploma.
  • Four to five years of experience in a similar or higher position.
  • Experience working with First Nations preferred.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision and in a team environment where mutual support is essential.
  • Ability to deal with individuals in varying situations where complex, high pressure, difficult decisions, or emergencies may occur.
  • Interact with others in a tactful, compassionate, and sensitive manner.
  • High level of competency in computer software including MS Office - Word and Excel.
  • Effective verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and RCMP clearance
  • Ability to occasionally travel is required.
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada.
