Adecco is currently hiring a full-time detail-oriented and adaptable Staff Accountant / Full-Cycle Accounting Specialist to support a variety of clients across multiple industries. You will bring strong foundational accounting knowledge, thrive in fast‑paced environments, and be capable of stepping into new teams and systems with minimal direction. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys diverse assignments and is confident in managing both routine and time‑sensitive accounting tasks.

  • Pay Rate: $22.00 - $32.00/hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting tasks, including posting and reconciling transactions.

  • Perform account reconciliations (bank, balance sheet, subledgers) and resolve discrepancies promptly.

  • Assist with accounts payable: invoice processing, vendor setup, payment runs, and statement reconciliations.

  • Assist with accounts receivable: invoicing, cash application, aging review, and follow-up.

  • Support month end and year end close, including journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules.

  • Help prepare financial reports and management schedules as requested (e.g., P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).

  • Provide support for audits by organizing documentation and responding to auditor requests.?

  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and internal policies.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (finance, operations, HR) to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Proven experience in an accounting role (e.g., staff accountant, full cycle bookkeeper, AP/AR specialist).

  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and reconciliations.

  • Proficiency with common accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, Xero, or ERP systems) and Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in temporary, contract, or agency placements.

  • Experience supporting month end close and/or audits.

  • Familiarity with GAAP and internal control best practices.

  • Comfort adapting quickly to new systems, processes, and teams.

  • Ability to hit the ground running with minimal supervision.

  • Strong communication skills to work with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

  • High degree of reliability, professionalism, and discretion with sensitive financial data.

  • Flexibility and openness to a variety of assignments, industries, and team environments

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
