Responsibilities
A well‑established Asian food distributor is seeking a Warehouse Manager to oversee operations at its Sydney site. This role requires strong hands‑on warehouse experience as well as exceptional leadership skills to effectively manage and guide the entire team.
- Oversee accurate inventory management through scheduled stocktakes.
- Ensure all equipment and inventory meet required standards by conducting thorough quality inspections.
- Manage the proper organisation and storage of inventory, including temperature‑controlled items stored in freezers.
- Supervise the receipt of incoming goods, including unloading, verification, labelling, and appropriate storage.
- Maintain effective warehouse inventory control to support smooth and efficient stock movement.
- Safely operate specialised warehouse machinery and equipment as part of daily operations.
- Promote strong communication and collaboration across all warehouse teams.
- Identify, document, and escalate any irregularities or discrepancies.
- Adhere to all company procedures, operational guidelines, and safety regulations.
Your Profile
- Extensive knowledge and hands‑on experience in logistics, warehouse operations, and transportation.
- Warehouse management experience within the food distribution industry is highly preferable.
- Minimum 2+ years of warehouse manager experience in Australia (preferred).
- Minimum 3+ years of warehouse supervisor experience in Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team of 10 or more warehouse staff effectively.
- Capability to support delivery duties when required. Valid Forklift Licence.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, mentor, and motivate teams.
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident status required.
- Proficiency in additional languages—especially Japanese, Chinese, or Korean—is highly preferable.
