About Us
Our client is a leading Australian manufacturer of plasterboard and interior building systems, offering a comprehensive range of plasterboard, cornices, compounds, adhesives, specialty plasters, and finishing accessories.
Most products are proudly manufactured locally, with selected specialty items sourced from leading global manufacturers. Their high-performance systems support fire, acoustic, and thermal requirements across residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects nationwide.
About the Role
We are seeking a Process Operator to join a high-performing production team in a continuous manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in processing, production, or manufacturing who enjoys working within established systems, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to smooth, safe operations.
This role centres on monitoring and controlling production processes , managing materials, ensuring quality outcomes, and working collaboratively across rotating shifts to meet production targets.
Experience from industries such as food manufacturing, timber or woodworking, assembly lines, FMCG, packaging, or general manufacturing is highly transferable and welcomed.
Responsibilities
In this process-focused role, you’ll play a vital part in keeping production running efficiently and safely while delivering consistent, high-quality products.
- Safety & Compliance: Actively promote a strong safety culture and lead by example — “Never Walk Past” unsafe practices.
- Process Monitoring & Control: Follow approved formulations, recipes, and process parameters, making adjustments within guidelines to maintain product specifications.
- Material Handling & Preparation: Manage raw materials to ensure uninterrupted production, including preparation and staging of inputs such as PBL reels.
- Q uality Assurance: Perform in-process checks and testing in line with national standards using basic QA tools (rulers, calipers, scales, etc.).
- Production Recording: Accurately record process, quality, and output data using onsite systems.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to meet daily production plans and resolve process issues.
- Changeovers & Transitions: Support production changeovers, start-ups, and shutdowns to ensure smooth transitions between runs.
- General Production Duties: Forklift operation, raw material handling, housekeeping, and cleaning of production areas and equipment (including high-pressure cleaning where required).
Your Profile
We’re looking for reliable, process-minded operators who understand how production flows from start to finish and take pride in quality, safety, and consistency. You don’t need experience in plasterboard manufacturing — training is provided , and experience from other processing or manufacturing industries is highly valued.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
- Willingness to work a rotating shift roster and train across multiple process areas
- Experience in a production, processing, or manufacturing environment (any industry)
- Forklift licence with at least 12 months of operational experience
- Ability to follow procedures, monitor processes, and work as part of a team
