Responsibilities

As an Administration and Client Service Officer, you will thrive in a dynamic environment and bring strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional support and service. You will play a key role in managing administrative tasks, coordinating processes, and ensuring a positive experience for internal and external stakeholders through professional and responsive customer service.

Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Working in a team to manage email inboxes and respond to email and telephone queries, by providing policy and procedural advice to clients.
  • Receiving and checking applications forms and updating relevant internal systems.
  • Liaising internally and externally with stakeholders to commence, monitor, progress and finalise administrative processes.
  • Managing and supporting processes with external service providers and other government agencies.
  • Processing sensitive external checks.
  • Preparing written documentation for delegate approval.
  • Contributing to maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for the business area.
  • Assisting Team Leaders with projects related to policy or operational processes.
  • Providing assistance across the section more broadly (as required).
  • Other duties as directed by the leadership team.


Your Profile

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to work to tight deadlines and effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Sound judgement and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to take instruction and work effectively both individually and within a team environment.
  • Ability to interpret policy in responding to client queries, providing professional and efficient client services
  • Ability to take initiative and contribute efficiencies to a team

Desirable:

  • Cert III or IV in Government (not essential).
  • Knowledge of the Australian Government’s Protective Security Policy Framework.
  • Experience in processing applications and related tasks and managing high volumes of enquiries.


AUS citizenship and a current active Negative Vetting 1 clearance is mandatory for this opportunity.
