JOB DESCRIPTION
Act as primary point of contact for owner, captain and crew.
•For ISM & mini-ISM vessels, perform DPA role, conduct audits, maintain safety/security system.
•Update owner on overall status of the yacht.
•Establish new client documentation, standards & protocols.
•Supervise upkeep of vessel paperwork in liaison with Fleet Administrator, Captain & Officers.
•Ensure Flag & Class requirements are met and upheld.
•Work with Yacht Account Manager and captains regarding accounting & budgets.
•Propose annual & monthly budgets to owner as per agreement.
•Facilitate handovers between captains.
•Coordinate survey & shipyard periods with owner & captain.
•Negotiate & control approvals for significant-cost projects in accordance with Purchasing Authority.
•Ensure all contracts (shipyard, service vendors) are fair and are reviewed by insurance as necessary.
•Visit shipyards if possible, to determine quality of work and condition of vessel & yard itself.
•Uphold the professional image of IYC and promote IYC, develop good relations with Captains outside of the fleet.
•Continual education including proficiency with current regulations, ISM, ISPS, MLC BLUE software.
DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE
•Minimum of 5 years' experience working at sea, ideally with experience at Officer or Captain level on ISM yachts or previous Yacht Manager position.
•Extensive knowledge of onboard yacht operations across all departments.
•Good working knowledge of charter market, international yachting regulations in Awareness of current technology in yachting.
•Ability to talk fluently with clients at a technical level.
•Strong negotiation & mediation skills.
•Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
