                                                                          Database & Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer

Job Description


•    Database Development & Management: Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure database architectures across multiple platforms (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQ or similar).
•    Performance Optimization: Create and tune complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to enhance system performance and reliability.
•    Data Integration & Transformation: Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes to consolidate data from multiple systems, supporting enterprise data warehousing and analytics initiatives.
•    Business Intelligence Solutions: Build, deploy, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense.
•    Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and business units to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
•    Data Quality & Governance: Implement data validation, monitoring, and governance frameworks to ensure data consistency and compliance.
•    Continuous Improvement: Conduct capacity planning, implement indexing strategies, and recommend database and BI best practices.
•    Documentation & Support: Maintain comprehensive documentation for database schemas, ETL processes, and BI reports, ensuring knowledge continuity.

Candidate Profile

•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
•    2–3 years of hands-on experience working with relational database management systems.
•    Proficiency in SQL development and database design principles.
•    Hands-on experience with at least one major BI platform (Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView/Sense).
•    Strong understanding of ETL tools, data integration techniques, and data modeling concepts (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas).
•    Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
•    Experience with cloud data services (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and their data services
•    Knowledge of Python, R, or other scripting languages for automation and analytics.
•    Understanding of data warehousing concepts and technologies.
•    Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
•    Relevant certifications in database or BI technologies.
