Due to the further need of our trusted client, an international production company, we are looking to hire a LEAD COMMODITY BUYER Plastic components

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• You will be responsible for developing and executing a category strategy, especially for volatile and supply-critical materials. This includes actively managing a supplier portfolio based on performance metrics.
• Establishing and maintaining strong supplier relationships, and leading commercial negotiations with suppliers.
• The job involves overseeing the sourcing process, managing RFI and RFQ processes, and drafting and managing contracts, including framework agreements.
• Leading cost reduction projects and ensuring that targets related to cost, quality, and capacity improvements are met, while continuously optimizing processes for efficiency and sustainability.
• Conducting market research and managing the supplier base with a focus on global suppliers. You will also be in charge of risk management and developing a long-term global commodity strategy.
• Addressing and managing global issues related to quality and supply chain claims.

 

Key requirements:

 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics and/or engineering with a technical/ commercial affinity or comparable qualification
• As equivalent job qualification several years of Buying/Sourcing either in one concerned Commodity (automotive or non-automotive industry equally qualifying) or in Program Buying/Sourcing (automotive industry preferred)
• Understanding of the respective global commodity market specifics (cost drivers, cost trends, innovations, material substitutions)
• High social competence and strong communication skills, intercultural competence
• Independent and responsible way of working as well as a quick comprehension
• Very good written and spoken English skills, German a plus
• Proficiency in SAP procurement system (R3), and experience with SAP based price, spend and contract analytic
