Safety FirstAdecco understands that communication and flexibility are the keys to delivering the best security services possible to our airport clients – and the millions of passengers they care for everyday. In Norway, Adecco Security is one of the leading providers of airport security staff, serving the country's largest and busiest airport, Oslo Airport Gardermoen. From check-in to boarding, Adecco Security manages all passenger security services throughout the airport terminal and has done so since Gardermoen opened nearly a decade ago. Since then, Gardermoen's air traffic has grown exponentially to become one of Northern Europe's busiest airports. Adecco's commitment has grown alongside the business, with security operations increasing on average more than 40% each year from 1997 to 2006. Communication is at the core of our relationship with Oslo Airport's management team. By understanding the airport's long-term security needs, we can provide the best full-service staffing solution while the client benefits from the Adecco Group's unparalleled recruitment expertise. "The fact that we're part of the Adecco Group is a piece of our success story here," says Knut Harald Hansen, Managing Director, Adecco Airport Security, Norway. "Our clients appreciate the link between the quality of our security services and our ability to recruit new staff via Adecco." Adecco Security works around the clock to ensure there are always experienced staff at all levels on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Adecco's six security managers and 12 supervisors oversee more than 750 security agents, ensuring that all team members are delivering their services according to the highest security rules and regulations. In addition to managing the airport's security operations, the Adecco Group staffs an in-house team to handle all administrative functions, including accounting, invoicing, legal matters and financial-support services. "We have to stay flexible to our customer's needs to ensure we deliver the best services possible in Gardermoen's busy airport environment," says Hansen. Adecco educates 60 new security guards every month to ensure it has enough qualified staff ready at all times to meet the airport's needs. The team's comprehensive staffing procedures ensure there are always enough security reserves available, including back-up staff on call to fill in during staff shortages or when extra staff is needed during high traffic periods. Every staff member, from the team leaders to the security managers, must complete comprehensive training sessions before they are allowed to work in the airport, while a full-time Adecco quality assurance team provides continual assessment of the staff and acts as a point of contact whenever they have questions or concerns. In a fluctuating airport environment like Gardermoen, staying flexible is paramount to our success, ensuring we deliver an optimal service at the best value to our clients. Every month, Adecco's managerial team reviews their airport staffing programme to ensure each area is provided with enough coverage and to remove staff in areas where demand has waned. "It's all about meeting the needs of our client," says Hansen. "Adapting our security programme to passengers means we are always well-staffed but not wasting resources." But employing the right staff is just part of what makes Adecco Security a successful staffing company. We work hard to ensure our team members stay motivated and have the tools they need to progress their careers. As a result, our initiatives aim to attract an enthusiastic workforce that experiences lower turnover every year. Through our experiences in labour markets around the world, Adecco understands that a happy, motivated labour force not only works harder, they also deliver a higher-quality performance and better value for our clients. And that's good news for everyone. |
